At the time of this posting, the admission list is only available on the JAMB admission portal and the JAMB CAPS portal.

Follow the procedure below to check your admission status

  1. Access the JAMB E-facility portal at
  2. Fill in your email address and password in the required columns, then sign in.
  3. Then locate and click “Check Admission Status”.
  4. Select your exam year, indicate your JAMB registration number in the required column, then click on the “Access my CAPS” button.
  5. You will be greeted with a blank screen like this: (you can click the image for a better view)
  6. Select the three dotted lines in the upper right corner of your browser (ie ⋮), then check “Desktop site”. (you can click on the picture for a better view)
  7. Select “Admission Status” from the left panel.
  8. Locate and click the “Search” button in front of your JAMB registration number to load your profile.
  9. You can now accept / reject your offer of admission under “Admission profile”.

NOTE: If you are using a phone, you may not see the option to check your admission status on CAPS. Most phone users may only see the welcome message.

The uppercase page only displays welcome because it requires you to use desktop mode to display the full page. That is why the Chrome browser is recommended if you are using a phone.

All you have to do is go to the Chrome option and choose the request desktop site for the full page to show as explained above:

Like I said up there;

  • If you use a cell phone to check it, you will only seeWelcome”, If you see this thenRelax a little.
  • If you are using Chrome browser, just browse and use “desktop version” on your browser to view the menu, then click check admission status to view your admission status.

JAMB CAPS admission status and their meaning.

The JAMB Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) is an admissions processing system intended to ensure the quality control, transparency and credibility of the admissions process. JAMB CAPS provides for a “marketplace” in the JAMB portal where institutions can go and “ask for students in Nigeria who mark their cut-off points”. If admission is offered to you on the JAMB CAPS portal, you can choose to accept or decline admission.

Below is the JAMB admission status that you will see on the JAMB CAPS portal and what they mean.

  1. If you see “Not allowed”: This has two (2) interpretations:
  2. Your school has not yet uploaded your contact information for the admission exam.
  3. You have not been considered for admission.
  4. If you see “Admission in progress”: You have fulfilled all the admission requirements. These requirements set by the school on CAPS by the admissions officer include:
    I. Jamb Cut-off Point for your department
ii. Minimum service score after jamb
iii. Ordinary level result (WAEC / NECO / NABTEB) ° the one you downloaded from the jamb portal

The JAMB CAPS STATUS “Admission in progress” has 3 meanings as follows:

  1. Offers: This means that you have been suggested by JAMB CAPS on the basis of the criteria programmed by the school on CAPS. The school is expected to upload this list for review.
  2. advised: This step implies that your proposal for admission to the CAPS has been studied and accepted by the school. At this point, the school has admitted you based on the proposal made to them by CAPS. They will forward the list to Jamb for final approval.
  3. Approved: Your admission has been confirmed by JAMB to see if you were on the lists they had offered to the school before. At this point, JAMB asks you to accept or reject the offer. That’s all for “current admission ”.
  4. If you see “Admitted”: At this point, you can accept or refuse your admission.

What to do if UNILAG has offered you admission.

If UNILAG has admitted you to JAMB CAPS, then you should note that:

  • All applicants successfully admitted to UNILAG are seriously invited to ensure that they express their interest in admission by accepting or refusing the proposed admission. This should be done in time to allow their admission to be processed.
  • If the admission has not yet been offered to you, the Admission accepted and Reject admission buttons will be inactive (not clickable and grayed out).
  • If admission has been offered to you, the Accept admission and Reject admission buttons will be active (clickable).
  • If you click on “Reject”, it means that you are not interested in the admission and therefore your admission will be canceled.
  • If you click on “Accept” it means that you are interested in admission and therefore the school will update your name on its admission list / portal.

What to do if UNILAG does not admit you

  • Applicants who have not yet been admitted should closely monitor their admission through JAMB CAPS.
  • Candidates who used “awaiting result” when registering must upload their O’Level result to the JAMB portal so that the institution of their choice can process their admission.

If you used the result wait, you must download your result immediately.

Follow the steps below to do so.

How to download the O’Level result on JAMB

  1. Visit a JAMB CBT accredited center or JAMB office or at your nearest JAMB Registration Center / Café.
  2. Make sure you have a copy of your O’level result (WAEC / NECO / NABTEB) along with the email address you used when registering online and your JAMB profile code. .
  3. Once there, request a download of your O’level result on the JAMB portal.
