The African Union Commission is now accepting applications from qualified, talented and enterprising young applicants from African countries for its 2021/2022 Masters / PhD scholarship to study at Pan African University. The deadline for submitting applications for the Pan-African University scholarships is July 30, 2021

Pan African University (PAU) scholarship

The Pan-African University is an initiative of the Heads of State and Government of the African Union. It is a leading continental university network whose mission is to provide quality postgraduate education geared towards achieving a prosperous, integrated and peaceful Africa.

Young, qualified, talented and enterprising applicants from African countries and the African Diaspora are welcome to apply to join Masters or PhD programs in any of the following four PAU institutes listed below. Applicants with potential, motivation and who wish to take on transformative leadership roles as academics, professionals, industry, innovators and entrepreneurs are particularly encouraged to apply.

  • Pan African University Institute for Basic Sciences, Technology and Innovation (PAUSTI), at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT), Kenya.
  • Pan-African University Institute for Earth and Life Sciences including Health and Agriculture (PAULESI), University of Ibadan (UI), Nigeria.
  • Pan-African University Institute for Governance, Humanities and Social Sciences (PAUGHSS), at the University of Yaoundé II and at the University of Buea, Cameroon.
  • Pan-African University Institute for Water and Energy Sciences – including Climate Change (PAUWES), at the University of Tlemcen, Algeria.

Pan African University scholarship eligibility

Admission requirements for master’s degree programs *

Applicants must meet the following conditions:

  • Undergraduate degree from a recognized university, with at least an upper second-class division or its equivalent, in a relevant field;
  • Certified copies of relevant certificates, transcripts (from university and high school),
  • National passport (personal data page);
  • Light-colored passport-size photograph (2 cm x 2 cm);
  • Detailed CV;
  • Letters of recommendation from 2 professors
  • A cover letter justifying why you want to continue your studies at the Pan African University;
  • Maximum age of 30 for men and 35 for women.

Candidates may be subject to a written / oral examination after the preselection.

Applicants for Masters in Conference Interpreting and Translation programs must have an excellent knowledge of at least two of the official languages ​​of the African Union (Arabic, English, French and Portuguese).

Admission requirements for doctoral programs

Applicants must meet the following conditions:

  • A master’s degree in a relevant field from PAU or any internationally recognized university;
  • Certified copies of certificates, transcripts,
  • Copy of passport (personal data page);
  • A 3-4 page research concept note (working title, research questions, objectives, meaning of the research, etc.)
  • Letters of recommendation from 2 professors
  • Light-colored passport-size photograph (2 cm x 2 cm);
  • Detailed CV
  • A cover letter justifying why you want to continue your studies at the Pan African University;
  • Maximum age of 35 for men and 40 for women.

The African Union Commission will offer full scholarships to successful African applicants.

Important information
In the scholarship agreement, PAU students are required to:

  • Commit to serve any African Union Member State for a period at least equal to the duration of the scholarship after successful completion of their studies
  • Do not engage in income generating activities that would interfere with their academic programs
  • In addition, the engagement of students in income-generating activities must be approved by the Rectorate of PAU, only if these activities do not interfere with the student’s academic program.
  • Each PAU institute will ensure that the medical insurance of the students is covered by the allowances paid. The PAU offers full scholarships (covering tuition and living costs) to all successful applicants in all of its institutes.

  1. After reading the conditions, click on ‘Register’
  2. Provide a valid username and email
  3. Check your inbox to confirm registration by clicking on the confirmation link (Please also check for spam)
  4. Provide a valid password
  5. Log in with your credentials
  6. Open the ‘Application’ page and provide all your data
  7. Click on the Save button and after finishing click on the FINISH button

* If you haven’t finished the app, you can come back later and “sign in” again using your email and password *

Deadline for submitting applications with all supporting documents – July 30, 2021. Applications received after this deadline will NOT be considered.

UNIMAID UTME Supplementary Admission List

The Maiduguri University Supplementary Admission List (UNIMAID) containing the names of candidates proposed for provisional admission into the various undergraduate programs of the university through the Unified Tertiary Enrollment Examination (UTME) for the 2020/2021 academic session is out.

Candidates who have participated in the UNIMAID admission selection exercise but who have not been admitted through the merit admission list can now consult the additional admission list.

UNIZIK Postgraduate Admission Form for the 2021/2022 session | How to apply

Nnamdi Azikiwe Akwa University Postgraduate Admission Form (UNIZIK) for the academic session 2021/2022.

Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Akwa, (UNIZIK) School of Postgraduate Studies now sells admission forms to its full-time and part-time graduate degree programs, Masters and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) for the 2021/2022 academic session. See available courses, requirements, and how to get the UNIZIK postgraduate form below.

The Graduate School of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Akwa (UNIZIK) accepts applications from suitably qualified individuals for admission to the following postgraduate programs for the academic session 2021/2022. UNIZIK offers full-time and part-time postgraduate programs.

Admission requirements for UNIZIK graduate studies

POSTGRADUAL DIPLMA PROGRAMS

The following persons may apply for admission to the UNIZIK Postgraduate Degree programs:

  • Graduates from approved universities who hold the first degree classification with FCGPA of 1.51 and above on a 5 point scale.
  • Applicants from approved polytechnics or monotechnics who hold a higher national diploma with a minimum of higher credit.

MASTER PROGRAMS

The following can apply for admission to UNIZIK master’s programs:

  • Graduates from approved universities who hold the appropriate degree in the proposed field of study with a minimum FCGPA of 3.00 on a 5 point scale or a minimum of 60% for universities that do not use the FCGPA.
  • Holders of a graduate degree from recognized institutions with an FCGPA of 3.50 and above (on a 5-point scale).

DOCTOR OF PHILOSOPHY PROGRAMS

Graduates from approved universities who hold a master’s degree in the proposed field of study with a minimum FCGPA of 3.50 on a 5 point scale or a minimum of 60% for universities that do not use the FCGPA

MINIMUM GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

Applicants for any postgraduate program must have a minimum of 5 credits including the English language and four subjects relevant to one or two sessions of WAEC, NECO, NABTEB or TCII (Faculty of Education only) based on the requirements departmental / faculty and general university.

Duration of UNIZIK postgraduate programs

Postgraduate Diploma Program (DPI)

The full-time graduate degree program lasts a minimum of two (2) semesters and a maximum of three (3) semesters. The part-time program must last a minimum of four (4) semesters and a maximum of six (6) semesters

To note: For the professional PGD of the Faculty of Engineering: the full-time course lasts a minimum of 4 semesters and a maximum of 6 semesters. The part-time must last a minimum of 6 semesters and a maximum of 8 semesters

Masters programs

Full-time master’s programs last a minimum of three (3) semesters and a maximum of six (6) semesters. The part-time program lasts a minimum of four (4) semesters and a maximum of eight (8) semesters.

Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) program

Full-time doctoral programs last a minimum of six (6) semesters and a maximum of ten (10) semesters. The part-time program must last a minimum of eight (8) semesters and a maximum of fourteen (14) semesters

How to apply for admission to UNIZIK graduate studies

  1. The application form must be completed online by logging into https://my.unizik.edu.ng/postgraduate/
    • Click on “Create an account” to create a new account,
    • Fill out the form and click on “Send”
    • An email will be sent to your box and a page indicating the successful creation of your profile will be displayed. Click on “click here”. You will be directed to the login page.
    • Enter your username and password and click on “Connect”.
    • Follow the instructions on the page following each step as shown to access the application form.
    • Click on First Step in the menu bar on your left to generate and print the number (Remita Retrieval Reference) for the ICT fee (N1,000).
    • Click the second step in the menu bar on your left to generate and print the number (Remita Retrieval Reference) for the application fee (N15,000).
    • Bring the RRR to the bank of your choice for the payment of administration fees and ICT fees.
  2. To confirm payment:
    • Click on step three. Type the RRR for the ICT charges in the RRR text box and click “Confirm”. Again, type the RRR for the application fee in the RRR text box and click “Confirm”
    • Once you have successfully confirmed both payments, you can proceed to step four to complete your request form.
    • Click on step four. Complete and submit the completed application form online, scanning and attaching the requested certificates, including O’level certificates.
  3. Print the completed application form for your personal use. You will need this document during admission and registration.
  4. Download and print a copy of the Transcript Request Form. The transcript request form should be sent to your old institution for your university transcripts. Any name change must be indicated in the transcript form.
  5. Applicants should include the names, phone number and email addresses of three references. At least two of the arbitrators must be academics with at least the rank of senior lecturer.
  6. Second level applications
    • The sale of the form begins on June 6, 2021
    • Form submission ends on August 27, 2021
    • Transcripts must be sent to the secretary of the School of Postgraduate Studies no later than September 3, 2021
  7. Doctoral candidates, when submitting their forms, must upload a proposal not exceeding five typed pages which must include:
    • Subject (no more than 18 words)
    • Brief history of the study
    • Goal and objectives / goal
    • Methodology
    • Expected results
    • The references

NB: Notwithstanding the above conditions, all proposed admissions are provisional and the School of Postgraduate Studies reserves the right to offer, confirm or refuse admission.

Applicants will be invited for a (VIRTUAL) screening test from September 1 – 3, 2021 and Proposal defense (doctorate only) on September 1, 2021.
