BIG OBJECTIVES

The overall goal of the Bachelor of Education at Kwara State University is to prepare teachers who will continue to advance on the path of excellence in professional growth and development, as clearly stated in the vision of KWASU: to be above all by pushing back the frontiers of knowledge and by demonstrating innovation in the dissemination of knowledge to advance the cause of humanity.

DURATION OF PROGRAMS

The duration of the program offered is generally five (5) or four (4) long vocations, depending on the entry method.

  1. Minimum of 5 and maximum 7 contact sessions for a program of five contacts.
  2. Minimum of 4 and Maximum of 6 contact sessions for a program of four contacts.

BUSINESS EDUCATION

CONDITIONS OF ADMISSION

(A) five contact sessions

  1. NCE with a minimum pass mark or less than 12 points including a minimum of five credits at O ​​/ LevelGCE / SSCE / NECO / TCIINABTEB or equivalent to include English language, mathematics and a maximum of three relevant subjects in two sessions.
  2. National diploma with lower credit in office automation and management (secretarial studies) from a recognized institution with O-level requirements.
  3. To qualify for the Accounting option, applicants must have obtained credit in their financial accounting as an O / Level result.

b. FOUR CONTACT SESSIONS

  1. NCE Business education in accounting, marketing or office automation option (high school) with at least one credit or more than 12 points, with at least five (5) O-level credits in math, English and three other relevant subjects.
  2. HND in accounting, marketing or office automation and management with O level requirements.
  3. ND with higher credit requirements and O / Level level. Any degree holder who wishes to re-register for a degree in business education.
  4. Any other relevant qualification approved by the College of Education and the KWASU Senate

EDUCATION CHRISTIAN RELIGIOUS STUDIES

CONDITIONS OF ADMISSION

FOUR CONTACT SESSIONS (4 year program)

  1. NCE with at least a credit score or above 12 points including a minimum of five credits at O ​​/ Level / SSCE / GCE / NECO / NABTEB / Grade II Teachers Certificate (TCII) / or equivalent, including Christian studies, mathematics and the English language in no more than two sessions.
  2. ND with higher credit and O-level requirements. Any degree holder who wishes to re-enroll in a degree in teaching Christian studies.

FIVE CONTACT SESSIONS (5 year program)

  1. NCE with a minimum passing grade of 9-11 points in addition to a minimum of five credits at O ​​/ Level / SSCE / GCE / NECO / NABTEB / Grade II Teachers Certificate (TCII) / or equivalent, including Christian Studies , Mathematics and English Language in no more than two sessions.
  2. Any other relevant qualification approved by the College of Education and the KWASU Senate.
  1. National degree with lower credit / merit from a recognized institution with O-level requirements.

EARLY CHILDHOOD AND PRIMARY EDUCATION

CONDITIONS OF ADMISSION

FIVE CONTACT SESSIONS (5 year program)

  1. NCE (in relevant subjects) with a minimum of (pass) grade or less than 12 points, including a minimum of five credits at O ​​/ LevelSSCE / GCE / NECO / NABTEB / Grade II Teacher Certificate (Mathematics and English included) at no more than two sessions.
  2. Diploma in education with at least one laissez-passer from a recognized institution in addition to the level O requirement specified in section 1

FOUR CONTACT SESSIONS (4 year program)

The candidate must have one of the following qualifications:

  1. NCE (in any field) with at least a credit score or greater than 12 points, including a minimum of five credits in the O / Level / SSCE / GCE / NECO / NABTEB / Grade II teachers’ certificate (mathematics and English included) no more than two sessions.
  2. HND in addition to the O level requirement as in point 1 above
  3. Any holder of a diploma who wishes to register for a diploma in Preschool and Primary Education.
  4. Any other relevant qualification approved by the Senate of Kwara State University.

ISLAMIC STUDIES EDUCATION

CONDITIONS OF ADMISSION

A) FOUR CONTACT SESSIONS (4 year program)

  1. NCE with at least a credit score or above 12 points including a minimum of five credits at O ​​/ Level / SSCE / GCE / NECO / NABTEB / Grade II Teachers Certificate (TCII) / SISC / or equivalent, including including Islamic Studies, Mathematics and English Language in no more than two sessions.
  2. ND with higher credit and O-level requirements. Any degree holder who wishes to re-enroll in a degree in education in Islamic studies.

B) FIVE CONTACT SESSIONS (5 year program)

  1. NCE with a minimum passing grade of 9-11 points in addition to a minimum of five credits at O ​​/ Level / SSCE / GCE / NECO / NABTEB / Grade II Teachers Certificate (TCII) / SISC / or equivalent, including Islamic studies, Mathematics and English language in no more than two sessions.

KINESIOLOGY HEALTH EDUCATION AND SPORTS ADMINISTRATION

CONDITIONS OF ADMISSION

A) FIVE CONTACT SESSIONS

  1. The candidate must have a minimum of five credits at the O / LevelSSCE / GCE / NECO / NABTEB ‘level (mathematics and English included) in no more than two sessions. The focus is on one of the following subjects: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Food Technology and Health Sciences in addition to NCEs (PHEs) with a minimum pass mark or less than 12 points including
  2. Nurses with only one qualification (must have met the O-level requirements as stipulated in “1” above).
  3. Degree in Physics and Health Education with at least a merit grade from a recognized institution.
  4. Graduated from a recognized college of health technology (must meet Level O requirements as stated in “1” above).
  5. OND (in scientific subjects) from a recognized institution. The candidate must meet the requirements of level O as stipulated in point “1” above.

B) FOUR CONTACT SESSIONS

  1. NCE (PHE or other science courses) from a recognized institution with at least a credit score or 12 points and above, in addition to the O-level requirement in the subject area specified.
  2. Nursing certificate from the Nigerian Board of Nurses and Midwives or its equivalent in addition to O-level requirements in specified subjects.
  3. HND (science course) in addition to O-level requirements in specified subjects.
  4. Any holder of a diploma who wishes to re-register for a diploma in health education and sports sciences.
  5. Any other relevant qualification approved by the College of Education and the Senate of KWASU

MATHEMATICS TEACHING

CONDITIONS OF ADMISSION

A) FIVE CONTACT SESSIONS

  1. NCE with a pass or merit in mathematics less than 12 points in addition to at least 5 relevant credits in 0 / SSCE / GCE / NECO / NABTEB level, including mathematics and English.
  2. Diploma in Mathematics Education with at least a passing grade from a recognized institution in addition to the O-level requirement stated above.

B) FOUR CONTACT SESSIONS

  1. NCE with mathematics option from a recognized institution with at least a credit score above 12 points in addition to the O level requirements in English and mathematics included.
  2. Any other diploma or holder of an HND in any other scientific subject, provided that the level O requirement stated above is met.
  3. Diploma (science education) from a recognized institution with a credit score greater than 12 points in addition to the O-level requirement stated above.

SPECIAL EDUCATION

CONDITIONS OF ADMISSION

To be admitted to the special education program, the following academic qualifications are required:

A) FIVE CONTACTS SESSION

1 Candidate with an O’Level or NCE (Special Education) result with a minimum of (Pass) grade or less than 12 points. Including a minimum of five credits at the level o ” SSCE / GCE / NECO / NABTEB ‘(Mathematics and English Language included) no more than two sessions. At least a PASS in Mathematics is required for the program.

2 Nurses with only one qualification (must meet level o requirements as stated in ‘i’ above).

3 Diploma in special education with at least merit from a recognized institution in addition to the O-level requirement in the subjects specified above.

B) FOUR CONTACTS SESSION

  1. NCE (Special Education) from a recognized institution with at least a credit score or greater than 12 points in addition to the O-level requirement in specified areas.
  2. Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria Nursing Certificate or equivalent in addition to O’Level requirements in specified subjects.
  3. Any holder of a diploma who wishes to re-register for a diploma in special education.
  4. Any other relevant qualification approved by the College of Education and the KWASU Senate

IAUE Qualifying Test for Graduating Students with CGPA of 4.5 and Above

The management of Ignatius Ajuru University of Education (IAUE) has decided to conduct a qualifying test for all graduate students for the year 2021 on a cumulative grade point average of 4.5 points and above.

Concerned that certain factors may have influenced the first-class degrees obtained by some students, the Senate of Ignatius Ajuru University of Education at its statutory meeting on Wednesday July 28, 2021 decided that all students graduate for the year 2021 on a cumulative grade point average of 4.5 points and above should make themselves available on Thursday August 5, 2021 on the main campus of the ICT Center by 11:00 a.m. for a qualifying test.

The Senate made this decision as part of the measures to ensure that these students deserve the status of first-class diploma thus obtained. It is therefore advisable for all concerned to come to the ICT Center for the qualification test in their own interest.

The Senate, however, approved the results of the unaffected students as presented by the deans of the faculties of business studies, education, humanities, natural and applied sciences, social sciences, vocational and technical education.

The President of the Senate and Vice-Chancellor of the IAUE, Professor Ozo-Mekuri Ndimele, praised the Faculty of Business Studies and the Faculty of Education for reporting their results on time and urged others to follow suit.

The Dean of the Postgraduate School, Professor Godspower Irikana, also presented the results of the 2017/2017 PhD, 2018/2019 PhD, 2018/2019 MSc, MPhil 2019/2020 and PGD and PGDE 2019/2020 students. Of the 240 results presented for the studies of the Faculty of Business, 224 students passed, 5 students failed with 11 pending results.

For the Faculty of Education, 224 results were presented, among which 221 students passed, 2 students failed and 1 pending result.

The Faculty of Human Sciences presented 41 results among which 40 students passed, 1 student however failed.

78 results were presented for the Faculty of Natural and Applied Sciences, among which 75 students passed, 3 students failed.

The Faculty of Social Sciences presented 54 results, including 52 successful students and 2 pending.

The Faculty of Vocational and Technical Education presented 16 results, of which 15 students passed and 1 pending result.

In total, 653 results were presented by the dean of the postgraduate school, of which 627 students passed, 11 failed and 15 are pending. The Senate approved the results as presented by the dean of the PG.

The Director of the Continuing Education College, Professor Samuel Amaele, presented the graduation results for 2019/2020 and the additional results which the Senate also approved. The Senate also approved his request to make the local government area of ​​Ahoada East and Bori centers of study for better development of human capital.

The Senate approved the request for an external examiner for the Graduate School of Business presented by Professor Joseph Kinanee.

Professor AM Onyeozu is now head of the adult education department. The Senate approved his appointment as head of the new department.

Members of the Faculty of Business Studies present at the Senate meeting were delighted to have been mandated by the Senate to immediately occupy their new building.

The owners of stores in the new paradise were also mandated by the Senate to occupy their stores.
